As we enter the month of December, a lot of people are excited to see this new month despite the ups and downs experienced in globally.

It is in the month of December that Christians hold a lot of festivities which includes Christmas carols, drama presentations and the likes in preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

In view of the Corona Virus Pandemic that has plagued the whole world and which Nigeria is not left out, The Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 has urged Christians to avoid celebrations such as Carols this Season.

The Statement was made by the Director-General of the Nigerian Center For Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu on Monday during a briefing of the task force.

According to Daily Post, Ihekweazu stated that gatherings such as Christmas Carols are "super spreaders" of the coronavirus.

He also discouraged festivals, trips, family gatherings as these are all avenues that increase the chances of the spread of the virus.

We should recall that on Monday night, NCDC announced 145 new cases of Covid-19 in the country bringing the total cases of Covid-19 to be 67,557. So as we enter the month of December, we should be careful to avoid spreading the virus.
