Fulani Herdsmen Strikes Again In Ibarapa.


Some Fulani herders have allegedly attacked two persons with machete at Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo State.

According to information gathered from Mr Taiwo Adeagbo, a resident, the herders allegedly attacked the two persons in their village around 1am on Saturday.

As a result of this, the youths have been on guard because the herders could still come back.

When explaining further, he said one of the victims had machete cuts on the head while the second one had injuries on his right leg.

When Sunday Vanguard called the Oyo State Chairman of Myetti Allah in Oyo, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Jiji, he said he didn’t hear anything about the attack.

President Buhari gets new Aide-De-Camp.

Lieutenant Colonel Y. M. Dodo is now President Muhammadu Buhari’s Aide-De-Camp (ADC).

The lieutenant replaces Colonel Muhammad Abubakar who has been in the role since 2015.

Channels TV reported that Colonel Abubakar is leaving the position to attend a course, a requirement for the promotion to the rank of a brigadier-general.

Until his appointment, Lieutenant Colonel Dodo was the Academy Adjutant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

Another Top Personality Dies.

A former Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ben Egbuna is dead.

The veteran journalist and broadcast media administrator passed away on Friday.

Born on July 13, 1949, Egbuna was the golden voice of FRCN network news in the 80s and 90s.

The former News Director at the Voice of Nigeria (VON) was in the broadcast industry for more than 40 years.

He was the Publisher/Editor in Chief, Digicast Magazine and Chief Executive Officer, Niche Media.

Egbuna served as President, African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) and was Fellow of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE), a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), among others.

Kwara State Blows Hot.

A youth group, Kwara South Movement (KSM), has warned the embattled Sarkin Fulani of Oyo State, Saliu Abdulkadri, to be law-abiding during his stay in Kwara State or face another eviction notice.

Abdulkadri and his men had moved out of Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State to Kwara State after the expiration of a seven-day eviction notice by Yoruba rights activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

Igboho had asked all Fulani residents in the area to leave to stop kidnapping allegedly perpetrated in the area by herders linked to the ethnic group.

He accused Abdukadir of harbouring the herders allegedly kidnapping and killing residents of the community.

KSM, in a statement by its coordinator, Saheed Olayinka Odofin, and secretary, Adeyinka Adeoye, urged the Sarkin Fulani to be guided in his activities during his stay in the state.

Gunmen Kidnap In Kaduna.

Unknown gunmen in military uniform on Friday evening abducted 21 people travelling along Kaduna-Kachia road.

It was gathered that a local councillor from Southern Kaduna and some others escaped from the abductors and ran through the bush.

The source further explained that the councillor, and the others that escaped from the kidnappers, later found themselves at Mararraban Kajuru, where they were assisted by the natives.
