The Nollywood Industry Has Lost 7 Stars In The Space Of 29 Days In January - See Their Photos



One of the best movie industry in the world known as Nollywood has recorded the death of 7 vibrant actors in the space of 29 days in January. We just have to know that each day that passes by, our time of death draws closer.

Death is inevitable, no one can escape this incident that would happen to us once in a lifetime, it does not matter who you are, what you do, or where you came from, once your time is up you are far gone to the land of death.


Below are 7 Nigerian Nollywood stars that have sadly passed away in January.

1. Mrs. Folake Aremu.


A veteran and vibrant Nollywood actress is popularly known as Orisabanumi sadly died in Ibadan, Oyo State on the 5th of January, 2020. She was the first Nollywood star to have died this month.


She acts more often in Yoruba speaking dialect movies, she was born on the 10th of October, 1960, in Kwara state. It is sad to hear her demise as she would no longer be seen on our TV series.

2. Jim Lawson Maduike.


3 days on, we were still mourning the death of Orisabanumi when another devastating news broke out about the death of this old Nollywood actor after complaining of body pain.


The multi-talented and also among the oldest actors on the Nollywood actors have entertained us through his acting role as King would sadly be missed by Nigerian.

3. David Mela.


This young man was reported to have died from an unknown ailment on the 11th of January.

4. Sotonye Green.


Beautiful Nollywood actress was confirmed dead by her friend on an Instagram post, her friend alleged that she died as a result of Covid-19 complications. Sotonye was said to be an upcoming Nollywood actress but sadly died.

5. Edyth Obianuju.


Nollywood recorded another death on the 22nd of January, 2020, reports had it that she begged for fund online so she could treat her ailment.

6. Dan Nkoloagu.



One of the vibrant Nollywood elders was reported dead after he fell sick on the 22nd of January, 2020, but was not made public till on the 25th of January, 2020. During his acting days, he often plays the roles of a chief or a herbalist.

7. Ernest Asusuzi.


He died on the 27th of January, 2020, he slumped but never woke up, this man has passed through during his lifetime. Recall that early last year, he was seen with no cloth begging for money and also battled several ailments before he died.
