I hope you're fine and doing well wherever you are, whether at work or at home, we think all is cool, as normal, during the weekend days we have always given you very good topics of discussion.

We want to look at what the Bible says about the use of condoms and other kinds of contraception and whether they should be used by us as human beings.

I have quoted some verses for us here, what the Bible says about the use of this subject.

Genesis 38:9-10 "But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whenever he went in to his brother's wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother. And what he did was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death also."

(1 Corinthians 7:9). "Therefore, preventing pregnancy through certain methods is permitted if doing so is the best for the family and is based on love."

Let's deal with the passage about Onan first. The passage is not a matter of birth control, but of defiance. It is a poor hermeneutic and intellectually deceptive effort to use it to ban all birth control.

When the Bible was written, birth control of some sort existed. But there was a blessing and privilege among the Jews who had children, and I think that the societal obligation to have children would have prevented most from even contemplating birth control.

The fact that it was possible, but never discussed, may suggest that it is not a problem with God. But it doesn't stand up if it wasn't necessarily done because of societal pressure.
