Last week, I went to Nairobi CBD to look for a good stall where my Chama and I could set up a business since we had KSh 800,000 savings and had decided to try out a clothes business so as to increase our profits as a women group.

I went around the CBD, just looking around to make sure I had seen everything before making a decision. While making the rounds, a man approached me and started talking me. I remember him asking me whether I was lost and I told him I was just looking for a business space. He stretched out his hand so that I could shake it and boom, that is the only thing I remember.

I blacked out and the moment I gained consciousness, I was in Kasarani, barefooted with no phone, no documents no nothing. I was so confused about what had happened. I tried asking someone where I was and they told me it was I was in Kasarani. Tears began trickling down my face as I tried to remember what had happened but I could not remember anything.

I borrowed a phone from a stranger where I called one of the women of the Chama and she immediately told me that she got a notification that I had withdrawn all the money from the Chama’s account through the ATM.

“What! Apana! Siku withdraw! I am even here in Kasarani, I don’t know how I got here. I think I was robbed,” I told the woman from the Chama and she started screaming in disbelief on the phone.

I had indeed been drugged and conned and everything I had, even the money in the bank stolen. The stranger who had given me his phone saw I was distressed and gave me some fare back home in Rongai. After reaching Rongai quite late, the Chama’s chairperson called for an emergency meeting after she heard that the money had been stolen from the account.

I told the women in the group what had happened and they were all terrified. Some thought I had stolen the money and was lying. Others felt pity for me and I was so confused about how that man had managed to even get the ATM PIN from me. I felt so embarrassed that I had let the women down as their treasurer.

One woman said she knew of a person who would help catch the thief and get him to pay for his actions.

“He is called Doctor Mugwenu and he is able to send plagues to the offender such that he will return every cent of the money,” the woman said.

I was so happy on hearing that. At least through Doctor Mugwenu, I could have proven that I did not steal the money. We all agreed and I called him in that meeting where I explained to him what had happened and he assured he would help us recover our savings.

We met him early the next day where he performed a series of spells and cast them and assured us that the conman would look for us within 24 hours since the spells would make his unbearable.

True to his word, the next day that thief started calling the people on my phone since he had stolen my phone. They told him to come to Rongai to look for me. When he came, he was shown my house by a friend. He looked like a person with leprosy since he had very huge pimples on his body and his private part was equally very huge. He was so embarrassed.

He brought back all the money but we refused to take it and told him to add KSh 100,000 for stealing from me.

“I am so sorry, I will add even double of that money, just take everything I stole but please reverse the spell. I am really in pain,” the thief said while in pain. We laughed at him and warned him against messing with us.

That’s how we got the chance to even expand our business ideas since we now had more money from the thief who added an extra KSh 100,000. I thanked Doctor Mugwenu for coming through for me because the Chama could have accused me of stealing had Doctor Mugwenu not brought the robber.
