Some hours ago, former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba, took to his verified Twitter handle to mock IPOB group over UK's decision to grant asylum to its persecuted members, describing the decision by the UK as a trap.

UK's decision to grant asylum to persecuted members of IPOB has continued to generate reactions from many Nigerians. Yesterday, the report had emerged that the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has released new guidelines to its decision makers on how to consider and grant asylum applications by members of IPOB and MASSOB.

The UKVI directed its decision makers to consider if a person who openly supports IPOB is likely to be at risk of any ill-treatment which is likely to amount to persecution.

While reacting to the exclusive report which was made by The Cable, Adamu Garba said that seeking asylum to the UK means getting contained. He said the decision is a bait because the UK and all its establishments will always support Nigeria.

Speaking further, he said that France had abandoned the Biafra secessionist groups, Israel rejected them, but now UK is trying to contain them. He said that IPOB and MASSOB are orphans in the midst of a father and mother.

In conclusion, he said that the simple thing to do is to trust your country and build Nigeria.

Adamu Garba believes that UK's decision to grant asylum to persecuted members of IPOB is a ploy to restrain them, because UK will always support Nigeria.

Well, that claim from him triggers deep anxiety - is this decision by the UK a good deal for IPOB and MASSOB or there is something ominous about it that they probably do not know?

Adamu Garba referred to the secessionist groups as orphans, and suggested that the best thing to do is to trust Nigeria and help in building it.

Adamu also made claims about IPOB being abandoned by France and rejected by Israel. Were there times that IPOB tried to get the sympathy of France and Israel? Well, we do not have the facts to back that up. But Adamu Garba says both countries had turned IPOB down.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has faulted the UK over the decision, and said that the decision is disrespectful of Nigeria. The Nigerian government believes the decision will sabotage Nigeria's fight against terrorism and undermine the country's security.

What do you think about what Adamu Garba said - do you believe that decision by UK is a ploy to restrain IPOB? Let's hear what you think on this, and also share the article so that others can contribute too.
