Nigerians are still mourning the brutal murder of 15 people in Ebonyi State by suspected Fulani herdsmen. That news went viral yesterday and many Nigerians condemned it while calling on the government to everything possible to fish out the perpetrators of the wicked act.

According to reports from Punch, suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded Obeagu community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and killed 15 persons who are between 18 and 56 years.

The report went further to state that 10 motorcycles and a vehicle whose owners were killed were also set ablazed. However, Bashir El-Rufai, the son of Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has reacted to this incident that happened in Ebonyi.

The son of Kaduna State Governor reacted to it while replying the statement of Dipo Awojide, a popular Twitter influencer. Dipo had said that the brutal murder of 15 persons in Ebonyi by suspected Fulani herdsmen stands condemned. Adding that the senseless and waste of precious lives must stop.

He asked the state government to act and protect its people and not to wait for Abuja. But El-Rufai's son while reacting to it asked Dipo if he called those that killed innocent people in Oyo Yoruba/Oduduwa Republic gunmen? He added that both should be addressed as animalistic criminals.

One can easily understand that El-Rufai's son is making reference to the incident that took place at Sasa market in Ibadan, Oyo State some weeks ago. But to me, this kind of killing in Ebonyi is barbaric and can't be compared to what happened in Oyo in any way. What one may ask is the sin of these people that were killed in this manner. The pictures of that incident is one that can easily move one to tears. It can also make one ask if human lives are still of value in Nigeria.
