Obasanjo must drop Akinwunmi Adesina from 2023 race - MURIC

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged former President Olusegun Obasanjo to withdraw Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, the current president of the African Development Bank (ADB), from the 2023 presidential race.

The Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, stated this in a statement sent to PM News on Tuesday.

Obasanjo, according to Akintola, must withdraw his support for Akinwunmi Adesina because he is a "Yoruba Christian."

According to Akintola, Obasanjo is attempting to entice the current president of the African Development Bank (ADB) into the 2023 presidential race.

In the interest of fairness, justice, and equity, he stated that the next Yoruba presidential ticket must be filled by a Yoruba Muslim.
