Presidency Knocks Southern Governors Over Ban On Open Grazing, Says Move Is Unconstitutional

The Presidency on Monday criticised the Southern Governors’ Forum over its ban on open grazing in the region, saying their announcement “is of questionable legality

The Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in his characteristic defence of the rampaging herdsmen, stated that the presidency found “no solution offered from their (Southern Governors’ Forum) resolutions” to the incessant herder-farmer clashes that had plagued the country for years.

Three days prayer for late COAS, Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and others observed in Abuja

A three days prayer was on Monday 24 May 2021 observed for the repose of the soul of late Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru who died along with others in the ill-fated Beach Craft King Air 350 crash at Kaduna International airport on Friday 21 May 2021.

Air Force arrests rail track vandals in Enugu

Fby the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for alleged vandalism of railway tracks and accessories belong to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in Enugu.

The commander of 553 Base Services Group, NAF, Enugu, Air Commodore Isaiah Taiwo, handed over the suspects and recovered items to the Enugu state police on Monday at NAF Base, Enugu.

Mr Taiwo said that items recovered include a truckload of railway track lanes and accessories, one pump action gun, two live bullets, Scania truck with registration number APP 523 XS.

400 suspects arrested, charged to court in Imo ― Uzodimma 

Governor Hope Uzodima of Imo State has disclosed that no fewer than 400 people that masterminded mayhem or attacks in the state have been arrested and charged to court.

This was contained in a statement in Owerri endorsed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Oguwike Nwachuku.

He said: “Over 400 of those who carried out the threats on the state in the past have been arrested.
