Wike Threatens To Resign As Rivers State Governor

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has vowed to resign if his predecessor and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, can point to any federal project he has attracted to the state since 2015.

The Governor made the threat on Saturday when he received some politicians in the state who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


Those who defected include two former chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers, Dr. Davies Ikanya and Igo Aguma.

Gunmen attack another police station

Armed men in the early hours of Sunday attacked a police division in Ebonyi, killing one mobile police officer, an official has said.

The gunmen were repelled by the police officers who suceeded in killing one of the attackers, the Ebonyi police spokesperson, Loveth Odah, said in a Sunday morning statement that about 20 hoodlum attacked one of the divisions at Ugbuodo Divisional Headquarters in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.

Authorities in northern Nigeria’s Kano State have confirmed the governor’s injuries in a fire at a petrol station in Sharada area of ​​the state.
