It is quite unfortunate that young people keep loosing their lives in the country in the process of looking for a job that would help them stay focused and not being idle as well as dependent on others. Strange things are happening on a daily basis, and it takes the grace of God to be alive and not fall prey to the wickedness of men of the underworld. 



However, it was gathered that a young and vibrant lady, a graduate of the University of Uyo, Miss Iniubong Umoren went missing on Thursday, April 29. The young girl who went job hunting and later was declared missing by her friend on social media, was reported to have been found dead, buried in a shallow grave by her abductor, identified as Uduak Frank Akpan, from Nung Ikot Obio.

The unexpected death of the deceased young lady came as a rude shock to friends and family members who prayed that she returned home alive after she left home to a destination that was not disclosed, along the airport road in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. 


Oluwapolycarp gathered from a reliable source that after two hours she reportedly made a frantic phone call to her friend, she was heard screaming before the call abruptly ended. Her phone line was switched off after she made the call to her friend. 

Immediately, her friend made a tweet on the Bird App about the situation surrounding her friend's whereabouts. The tweet went viral and people start making a search to unmask her abductor.

24 hours later, Nigerians on social media provided evidence, locations, contacts and almost everything that would aide the arrest of Miss Iniubong Umoren's kidnapper with the hope that the intelligence provided will help in finding and bringing her abductor to justice.

Many people have reacted to this development including the deceased elder brother who was identified as Ukeme Umoren. As seen on his Facebook page, 48 hours after the deceased was discovered by the Nigerian police, he took it to his Facebook page to announce her death. On his timeline on Sunday, May 2, 2021, he wrote “Black Sunday”.


Meanwhile, according to police report, the suspect had since made a confessional statement after he was arrested. He was alleged to have taken the late Miss Umoren to his house where an argument ensured and in the process, he used an object to hit her on the head resulting in her death. He allegedly hurried and buried her in a shallow grave, ran to Oron to hide.

It may also interest you to know that the family of the deceased are now demanding for the corpse of the late Miss Iniubong Umoren as police in Ikot Akpan Abia command continues with investigation into the matter.
